CreateSA is providing advice to the South Australian Government on major public art projects. This includes the Attorney-General's Department initiative in which six leading Aboriginal South Australians will be honoured with statues to be built on Kaurna Land within the Adelaide CBD. The first statue, commemorating Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue AC CBE DSG was unveiled on 2 June 2026 at Tarntanya Wama/Elder Park in Adelaide.

CreateSA has also provided advice and funding to local government, artists and creatives to deliver public art projects, including the Wirukutj/Balaklava Area Committee for a local community Silo Art Project.

CreateSA also supports small-scale public art projects by professional practising South Australian artists through its Arts and Culture Grants program

The partnership between the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) is enabling an ongoing pipeline of quality Australian television production in the state.

In the period since the Delivery Plan 2025-27 was launched, the ABC SAFC Content Pipeline Fund has supported production on four new ABC series anticipated to generate $14.57 million in direct South Australian production and post-production (combined) expenditure and create 264 South Australian jobs across crew and performing talent, including nine training opportunities through professional crew attachments across production office, locations, unit and art department, postproduction.

This includes the new crime drama series Treasure and Dirt filmed across Adelaide, Umoona/Coober Pedy, and the Ikara/Flinders Ranges in late 2025, which is expected to inject $8.4 million into the state’s economy.

CreateSA has funded Ku Arts to support its Curators Program.

Ku Arts is a not-for-profit, Aboriginal community-led visual arts organisation and South Australia's peak organisation for Aboriginal visual artists.

The Curators Program supports emerging Aboriginal artist and arts workers to expand their practice as future curators. It offers participants an immersive experience with leading South Australian art institutions, exploring collection management, exhibition design, curatorial processes, and the ethical responsibilities that come with working with Aboriginal stories and artworks.

This initiative will be further developed in 2026-27.

The Music Development Office (MDO) also provides funding and professional development opportunities for South Australia’s music sector through its programs including the Contemporary Music Organisations Fund, Project Support Grants, National and Export Contribution Funds, and the Robert Stigwood Fellowship Program.

CreateSA contributes to national professional development initiatives through co investment with states and territories, including Creative Australia’s Biennale Delegates Program, which supports early career visual arts practitioners to attend Australian and international events.

CreateSA is also working with funded organisations and across the South Australian Government to identify and support future skills development opportunities. This work will inform future policy development.

Following the South Australian Government’s commitment of additional funding of over $1.5 million to contemporary music, the Music Development Office undertook extensive industry consultation to inform the development of A Sound Future. CreateSA provides funding to Creative Workplaces to continue its work supporting fair, safe and respectful workplaces across the sector.

Creative Workplaces, established by the Australian Government as a key measure of Revive,  is developing a growing suite of information and resources to help artists, creative and arts workers to navigate complex topics in the workplace, such as superannuation for contractors, managing workplace hazards and risks, and child safe workplaces. This also includes a recently-developed framework for creative businesses and organisations to create fair, safe and respectful work arrangements for the artists and creatives they engage, focusing on meeting legal responsibilities and strengthening relationships.

CreateSA's investment also supports Creative Workplaces to deliver events in South Australia, to provide those in the sector the opportunity to hear directly from experts in areas such as tax, superannuation, and intellectual property. Creative Workplaces also offers places in learning and development programs for South Australian participants.

CreateSA supported Creative Workplaces in conducting a national survey of working experiences in the arts and creative industries, focusing on key issues such as pay and working conditions, safety at work, and bullying, discrimination and harassment. The results from the survey will inform future policies, support programs, advocacy efforts and training opportunities.

CreateSA is additionally conducting an audit of philanthropic initiatives across South Australian organisations, including cultural institutions. The outcomes of this audit will inform CreateSA's future policy decisions.

Through CreateSA funding, Adelaide has joined the World Cities Culture Forum. This global network of more than 45 creative cities shares ideas and solutions to build a world where culture is at the centre of thriving cities, acting as a driver to create equitable, prosperous and sustainable places to live, work and play.

CreateSA is additionally strengthening partnerships and facilitating targeted international engagement opportunities. This includes providing advice to support Australian Government-led international governance and engagement processes and sharing sector relevant information to support coordinated international engagement.

CreateSA also provided funding to support the international tour of Guuranda X, a Narungga led cultural exchange performance project created by Narungga and Kaurna artist Jacob Boehme, in collaboration with Narungga Elders and artists.
