Aboriginal people have made and continue to make a unique and irreplaceable contribution to the state of South Australia.

The South Australian Government acknowledges and respects South Australia’s Aboriginal people and nations as the state’s first peoples and recognises Aboriginal people as traditional owners and occupants of South Australian land, sky and waters.

The South Australian Government acknowledges that the spiritual, social, cultural and economic practices of Aboriginal people come from their traditional lands and waters, and that Aboriginal people continue to maintain and practise cultural and heritage beliefs, languages and laws that are of ongoing importance today.
