Our state’s capital is strengthening its cultural heartbeat, becoming the third Australian city to join the World Cities Culture Forum.

World Cities Culture Forum is the leading global network of more than 45 creative cities, placing culture at the heart of city planning and investment.

The network shares ideas and solutions to build a world where culture is at the centre of thriving cities, acting as a driver to create equitable, prosperous and sustainable places to live, work and play.

Adelaide has joined this network of global cities in 2026, joining other Australian cities Melbourne and Sydney.

Founded in 2012 with eight cities (London, New York City, Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, Istanbul, Sydney and Johannesburg), World Cities Culture Forum members share the belief that global cities can achieve more by working together and being generous with ideas.

Leaders of these cities see culture as key to vibrant cities and can drive sustainable development agendas.
