Arts South Australia is funding Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) to provide pathways for artists to upskill, develop and connect through LOFT.

LOFT is offering South Australian artists and collectives an opportunity to develop new choreographic work through the PEAK residency.

The residency provides ongoing support and mentorship from ADT, with $12 000 and six weeks of studio time as well as a supported place in the 2026 Adelaide Fringe program.

ADT will support the PEAK residency by providing administrative and marketing assistance, mentorship and leveraging its networks to create connections.

A Creative Producer is currently being recruited to lead LOFT, and to collaborate with the state’s dance community to design the inaugural program which will launch in 2025.

LOFT will take up residence in a dedicated studio in the Lion Arts Centre and offer opportunities for artists to gather, collaborate and develop.

The initiative responds to research by UniSA , which looked into the best ways to support independent contemporary dance and build a thriving sector in South Australia.
