CreateSA has supported the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters' fifth Quadrennial Public Artwork commission with a Public Art and Design Major Commission grant, helping to bring a significant new public artwork to life on Osmond Terrace, Norwood.

Local art and design team Wills Projects – Laura Wills and Will Cheesman – created ‘Rain’, an artwork inspired by the local rain moth that explores themes of time, connection to place, life cycles and fertility. The large-scale sculptural work features wing-like forms suspended above the ground, while integrated lighting creates the impression of glowing caterpillars and hidden life beneath the surface.

The commission reflects CreateSA's commitment to supporting ambitious new work through the Public Art and Design Major Commission program. It also advances A Place to Create Delivery Plan Action 1.1, ‘Prioritise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural leadership and knowledges’ and Action 2.1, ‘Strengthen support for the development of new, original work’.
