Today, the Government of South Australia proudly launched A Place to Create – a 10-year cultural policy for all South Australians to enrich South Australia’s future through arts, culture and creativity.

This launch follows our Creating for the Future consultation, where we heard from more than 2,000 community members who helped shape the policy.

A Place to Create will support more South Australians to access arts, cultural and creative experiences; more artists and creatives to thrive; and arts organisations, creative businesses and cultural institutions to be robust and sustainable.

This state-wide policy aligns with the National Cultural Policy, Revive, and complements the South Australian Economic Statement.

The policy’s ambitions will be realised through a series of short-term delivery plans, with the 2025-2027 Delivery Plan, also released today.

We are excited to share Arts South Australia has been renamed CreateSA, with our new name and brand representing our vibrant and diverse creative sectors.

Public consultation for new legislation to enshrine the value of the arts in South Australia, is now open. To read the draft bill and share your feedback, please visit the YourSAy website.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this, and we look forward to working together to continue building a strong and vibrant cultural future for our state.
